Art Tatum's recordings include some of the best stride piano on record. Some musicians never have the opportunity to record their achievements for posterity. This cannot be said of Tatum. He was hired by Norman Granz for two days of recording in December 1953, and for two days in April 1954. The result was a set of thirteen long-playing records (twenty-six sides). They were released to the public in 1974 (Pablo Records) and are truly a historic event for Tatum followers in particular and for jazz fans in general.
